Somethings wrong but I don't know what it is. I've went over my bike a million times, gear is ready, I am ready, but I'm hesitant. I feel different about this race. Something stands in my way, a formidable foe that I have yet to put a face to.
Perhaps it's the fact that the track is new, or maybe I've come to expect wins, and here I may not get one.
I've won the last 3 races I've entered, 2 of them by a large margin. Is this pressure?
Is this what I've been able to avoid in my life?
Is this the feeling (on a smaller scale) that parents feel when they're running short on cash, and have a family to feed?
Or is it something else, something less threatening?
Every time I set foot on a track, I think more and more, about the injuries I may incur if I continue to evolve with my level of racing. The faster I go, the more I risk..
I hope the racing goes well this weekend, I hope these demons will stay hidden for a while longer, and let me focus where I need it most.
I need to stop sweating, this air conditioning is cold.

Its called nerves..plain and simple..
Sometimes when we get overly sure of ourselves there will be something that will clue you in on it...a strange forbodeing feeling..a weird twinge in your neck muscles..maybe a sick stomach..i think its how our conscience humbles us a bit..lets us know that we arent perfect by no means..and it will serve to make you take a bit more time round that curve..or pay better attention to the guy beside you racing hell bent for leather..at least thats what i think.. good luck..dont forget to post results..

Yeah, I've heard that if you're not nervous, you don't want it badly enough. Of course, I'm a spectator more often than not so I can't really say.

Well -- there was only 1 guy in my class..
and TG's class (his had 6-8 people), raced at the same time as mine (because both classes were relatively small...
We both dominated. We were so far ahead of the rest of those guys, it wasn't funny.
We were so far ahead (we were keeping a good pace with one another)... but .. we felt bad about winning by that much..
but, my girlfriend timed our laps... and if we'd entered the next class up, we would've gotten killed. So we were in the right class... there were just no other "fast guys" at this particular race.
It was fun... when I knew I had it won, I was hollerin' at the spectators... and pumpin my fist over jumps. Good times... I was havin FUN!
.
.
I dunno if being nervous means you dont want it bad enough, cuz ... i was so sure I was gonna lose...
I'm on a winning streak... this week marks... 3? 4? weeks in a row of consistant 1st places.
Pretty stoked... this coming weekend, I go back to Hooks TX, where I'm undefeated thus-far. Last time, I got 2nd in moto 1, and 1st in moto-2.. so i took home the "overall"...
So, i'm nervous about that guy... but, i'm training hard, and eating right!
also... TG is training with me, so maybe he can come back after a 5th place down there last time, and regain his 1st place status
Wish us luck!~
